There really is something for everyone to enjoy in the area. The many nearby delights include:
- A wealth of walking and climbing (as well as the various routes to the summit of Snowdon itself, there are a number of other mountain ranges that are as beautiful and challenging such as Y Carneddau, Y Glyderau, Y Rhinogau and Cader Idris).
- Lovely sandy beaches (Black Rock Sands or Criccieth are both approx 7 miles away).
- The castles of Harlech, Caernarfon and Conwy.
- The recently reopened Welsh Highland Railway runs through Beddgelert. From the village station steam trains run through spectacular scenery either below Snowdon to Caernarfon, or through the dramatic Aberglaslyn Pass to Porthmadog.
